Super-insulated design: With our double wall system we achieve an R-Value of 38, more than double that of typical modular construction. The double stud design also eliminates the thermal conduction losses of a traditional wall. A 20" attic blanket of formaldehyde-free blown fiberglass keeps you warm with an R-50 rating. Top quality Energy Star rated windows: All of our window offerings come with Low-E glass, low maintenance exterior cladding, and full screens. They all meet or exceed the Energy Star Guidelines for our Maine climate. Window options include Andersen 400 series casement windows (vinyl clad exterior, wood interior); MVP Windgate all-vinyl double-hung windows, and Integrity Fiberglass clad windows. Traditional Maine board & batten siding weathers well and looks great while keeping your home warm and dry. Other options include cedar shakes, clapboard, or siding of your choosing. Solid pine interior doors are an upgrade for many home manufacturers, but they come standard in the Sage house. Radiant in-floor heat: Clean, warm, quiet heat. Radiant slab |

What is R Value and why is it Important?
The R stands for Resistance, as in Thermal Resistance. Essentially, R-value is a measure of how effectively a building keeps heat in. The higher the number, the less heat is transferred from one place to another, the lower your heating bills. |
